Caretaker manager previews trip to Scunthorpe United

Caretaker manager Chris Lucketti told the Club website that the team will be ready to perform to the best of their abilities this weekend against Scunthorpe United.

Lucketti will take charge of the first team alongside development coach Barry Nicholson at Glanford Park following the departure of manager Graham Alexander on Wednesday afternoon.

Speaking from the Club’s Poolfoot Farm training base, Lucketti said: “It has been a difficult time. The decision came as a massive shock and the news of Graham’s departure is still sinking in.

“I have been asked to do the job by the chairman on a day by day basis and I will do that to the best of my abilities.

“The lads have a duty to perform to the best of their abilities and I will be doing my best to make sure they do that.

“We will be going to Scunthorpe United looking to be positive and getting the result that we need from the game.

“Everywhere is difficult to go these days, we know that but we have to concentrate on ourselves more than the opposition.

“We have an injury list to our defence that I have never known in my career. We know that is part of football and we have had to deal with a lot of injuries to key players.

“The lads know myself and Barry Nicholson. We will make sure that they are prepared and we will make sure the players will give it their best shot.”
