The Posh are League One's highest scorers this season

Steven Pressley paid tribute to Peterborough’s Graham Westley for the attacking brand of football he has introduced at London Road since being appointed manager.

The Cod Army travel to take on the Posh this weekend, but will be wary that Westley’s side are the highest goal scorers in Sky Bet League One this season.

Town head into the game full of confidence however after beating Sheffield United on penalties in the quarter-final of the JPT on Tuesday evening.

Attackers David Henen and Tariqe Fosu both joined the Cod Army on Wednesday from Everton and Reading respectively, and will both be in the squad for Saturday.

Ahead of the game, Pressley said: “Me and Graham get on very well. I met him on a couple of seminars when we were both out of the game.

“We went to an analytical seminar and I spoke to him during that for some time, and we seem to get on great.

“He’s a good guy and has gone back in there and changed his methods and is now playing a very exciting brand of football.

“It’s quite an expansive brand of football and it’s very noticeable that they’re now the highest goal scorers in this division.

“He deserves great credit for that because that type of football has not always been associated with Graham.

“The one thing he’s done is that he’s looked at the levels of the players he’s been with in the past, and decided to play a more exciting brand.

“He’s certainly done that and they’re playing some wonderful football at the moment. He deserves enormous credit for that.

“Peterborough have always been an exciting kind of side and I watched their game against Burton Albion last weekend when they won 3-0.

“I also watched their last home game where they beat Doncaster Rovers 4-0 and have seen aspects of the game against Coventry.

“It was a game they lost 3-2 but at half time they could have been winning 7-0 and that is the truth of it.

“It’s going to be a real test for us on Saturday afternoon but I really do feel that we’re ready for it.

“We’ve got a couple of good additions this week which will give the place a lift, and we have to believe we can go there and win.”
