Attacker made his first home appearance for Town

Tariqe Fosu marked his first home appearance in a Fleetwood Town shirt with a goal as he helped the Cod Army beat the Robins.

The man on-loan from Reading until January scored Town’s fourth of the afternoon, as his effort from inside the box rolled past keeper Lawrence Vigouroux.

Fosu, playing in an attacking position alongside David Henen and David Ball, was a threat throughout as the trio dominated the visitors’ backline.

After the game, he said: “I’m buzzing to get the goal but it’s also about team performance. I thought we took on board what the gaffer has said in training.

“We’ve worked on things all week so it was just about putting it into the game, and we got a good result which puts us onto the next one now.

“We’ve been working on the connection of the front three so just had to take it into the game, and we linked-up really well.

“The gaffer wants us to press all the time which is quite hard work, so coming off I was quite tired as I tried to work my socks off.

“It was good to get this win and it’s good for us to be going into the Millwall game with a win as it’ll give us all confidence.”
