Young Cod Army travel to Stanley on 17th November

Fleetwood Town U18s will face their Accrington Stanley counterparts in the FA Youth Cup second round on Tuesday 17th November, 7.30pm kick-off at the Wham Stadium.

The young Cod Army beat Hartlepool United in the first round earlier this month by two goals to nil to confirm the trip to East Lancashire.

Stanley beat Baford United to set up a tie which was played last year in the first round at Highbury Stadium.

On that night, Fleetwood Town were victorious courtesy of a solitary goal from Liam Wood.

Director of Youth Stuart Murdoch said: “I am sure Accrington Stanley will be in a high spirit and we are looking forward to the game next Tuesday.

“We will prepare for it properly like we did for the Hartlepool United match and Nathan Rooney will get the team ready and we know they will be really up for it.

“We played Accrington Stanley a few weeks ago and even though we won the game it doesn’t mean to say that there are any foregone conclusions.

“History means nothing and it is all about going and winning the next game in front of you. They will be ready!”

Ticket prices will be just £3 for all ages and it will be pay on the gate.
