Defender has played eight times for the Cod Army

Fleetwood Town have extended the loan of defender Joe Davis until the 3rd January 2016 from Premier League side Leicester City.

The 22-year-old centre half, who has also operated as a right back for the Cod Army, has played eight times for Town since his arrival in October.

Speaking to the Club website about his loan extension, Davis said: “I am delighted to be staying. It has gone well so far and I’m pleased that I have been playing.

“Results have spoken for themselves and the longer I can extend the loan for the better.

“I extended the loan first time around when I was not playing and I was determined to get into the team.

“I have managed to do that thankfully and hopefully I will stay in the team for as long as possible.

“The main thing is that we keep on putting in the right performances and picking up positive results.

“We are all now looking forward to Saturday’s match at Blackpool. It is a massive game for the Club and the fans.

“We will go to Blackpool hoping we can replicate our last few performances and I am sure we will get the right result.”
