Finals days prove to be a success at the home of FTFC

Highbury Stadium continues to be in demand despite the season finishing two weeks ago as the Cod Army finished tenth in League One.

The Club have hired out the stadium to local leagues, schools and corporate sectors for playing football tournaments, finals and challenge matches so they can experience playing on an award winning Football League surface.

In the last seven days a number of events have taken place at the stadium which include four Blackpool and Fylde Sunday alliance finals, the Hogan Cup, charity matches and the National Finals for the department of work and pensions.

The Club has also taken bookings from business community sponsors entertaining their customers.

On Monday night, the Club hosted the Fleetwood and Thornton Cleveleys Sports Association Primary Schools Football League.

The finalists have qualified in one of two ways, winning one of the three mini leagues or being the best runner up.

In the last seven days a number of events have taken place at the stadium. Four Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Alliance finals have taken place, The Hogan Cup for U18’s, charity games, plus National Finals for Dept of Work and Pensions as well as bookings from business community sponsors entertaining their customers in business challenges.

The schools represented are from Stanah Primary, Larkholme Primary, Charles Saer Primary and Northfold Primary.

This week we will also host HMRC National finals, The Carlsberg Cup six-a-aside tournament, BES Utilities annual match.

This coming weekend, Fleetwood Town will host the Coulton Cup Finals and the Community Trust festival.

Head of Commercial Martin Booker said: “Despite the season being over for the first team it’s not over for the events and operations team.

"We have hosted consecutive events for the last seven days or so it’s been very busy, we are delighted to be able to host these events and we are already planning our 2016 programme as we speak.

"It’s a fantastic package we offer so players of any standard can experience being a professional for the day with full use of facilities, technology and the big game atmosphere."
