Every Town fixture ended up as 1-0 scorelines in November

With Fleetwood sitting in a respectable mid-table position, Town were looking to carry on their positive start to their first season in the third tier of English football.

November started with a narrow 1-0 victory at home to Gillingham, where on-loan striker Tom Hitchcock netted after three minutes on his debut.

Despite having the lion share of the play on a blustery autumn afternoon, Fleetwood had to settle for only the one goal against their opponents from Kent.

Indeed, the rest of Town’s results in the penultimate month of the year would all end up as 1-0 scorelines.

Graham Alexander’s men were on the wrong end of an FA Cup upset as they bowed out to Cambridge United at the Abbey Stadium.

Fleetwood were back on their travels a week later as they made the long journey down to Somerset to face Yeovil Town.

Jeff Hughes popped up with the winner in the 87th minute to hand Town all three points away at Huish Park.

Alexander’s side returned to home soil in their next game, but succumbed to a slender 1-0 defeat at home to Walsall in what was a frustrating afternoon.

Romaine Sawyers notched the solitary goal after 35 minutes, as he drilled the ball beyond Maxwell from long-range.

The Cod Army ended the month with another narrow defeat, this time it was against Swindon Town as Ben Gladwin snatched a late winner in the 87th minute.

Fleetwood’s narrow defeat at the County Ground meant that they ended November in 11th position, having taken 25 points from their opening 19 games.
