Milligan relishing taking to the Highbury surface once again

12 May 2015

A number of former players will compete on Saturday

Former Fleetwood Town man Jamie Milligan will take to the Highbury surface along with a number of ex-teammates on Saturday afternoon.

Milligan will take part in a legends game at 2pm which will see former players Lee Impett, Tony Clowes, Stuart Beech and many others also compete.

A host of other exciting activities will also take place during the day, with live entertainment and music from local bands, while multi-sports sessions, inflatable games and face painting will also take place.

A range of food and drink will be available throughout the day, while a DJ will be in Jim’s Bar in the evening to complete the event.

Speaking ahead of the day, Milligan said: “I’m expecting a good day on Saturday. I’ve been sent the information by the Club and it sounds like it’ll be a good day all round.

“I’ve dragged a few of the old boys in for the game so I’m looking forward to that. I’ve had a few who have let me down but I’ve managed to get a team together.

“Some of the lads who are actually playing with me on Saturday were here right at the very beginning, so it’ll be good for them to get back on Highbury.

“My fitness is good at the moment. I always try and look after myself so hopefully I can get something sorted for next season now.

“I had a great relationship with the Fleetwood fans and used to go out of my way to mingle with them and meet new ones too.

“They still send me messages of support on Twitter which is nice, so it’ll be good to see them again more than anything.

“This event is a great idea and it’s massive that a Club like Fleetwood gives something back to the community as it gets everyone involved.”
