The football may be over for the summer but the fun will continue at Fleetwood Town FC, as the Club will be hosting their annual family fun day on Saturday 16th May at Highbury Stadium.Chairman Andy Pilley is looking forward to seeing yet another great turnout, and said: “Last year’s event was a huge success and we would urge as many people to come to Highbury for what will be a superb family day out for all ages.”
The morning’s proceedings will see Fleetwood Town juniors host an invitational football event with teams from across the area given the opportunity to play on the Highbury surface.
A team of Fleetwood Town legends will then take to the field for an exhibition match, with former player Jamie Milligan recruiting a number of ex-teammates to play.
At 3pm, live entertainment and music from local bands will begin on stage, while a number of family activities including inflatable games, multi sports sessions, community stalls and face painting will also take place.
A range of food and drink will be available throughout the day, while a DJ will be in Jim’s Bar in the evening to complete the event.
Head of Commercial Martin Booker explained the Club’s plans to repeat the community event after last season’s successful ‘Party on the Pitch’.
He said: “We are delighted to confirm this annual event is happening again this summer. Last season’s event was a fantastic day, especially on the back of promotion too.
This year we are keen to repeat the event with even more family activities and live entertainment.
“We hope the community will again turn up on mass and support this event.”
Tickets are priced at just £3 for adults with U16s free of charge. Tickets can be purchased from the ticket office from Saturday 25th April or via www.highburystore.com.
