Defender put pen to paper on a deal on Tuesday lunchtime
Fleetwood Town Football Club are delighted to confirm that Nathan Pond has today signed a new 12 month contract extension at Highbury Stadium.By signing a contract, the 2015/16 campaign will be Pond’s 12th with the Cod Army, as they look to improve on last season’s 10th placed finish.
The defender established himself as an accomplished League One centre half last term, and will play another big part for Town this coming year.
Manager Graham Alexander said: “One of our major strengths last season was our defensive qualities, and both Stevie and Pondy along with Mark Roberts played massive parts.
“The reason we wanted Pondy to stay was because we believe he’s a very good centre half, and I still think there’s more to come from him.
“He’s got a fantastic reputation around the town and the Club and for good reason, but he’s a very good professional and we want him to progress next year.”
