Smith offered deal by Fleetwood Town
Fleetwood Town have offered a professional contract to youth team midfielder Conor Smith.
The second year scholar has been training with the development squad since the turn of the year and played a part in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Burnley.
Smith played a key role in Fleetwood Town’s U18s success this season in the FA Youth Cup, with the Cod Army reaching the third round stage against Premier League side Sunderland.
Development coach Barry Nicholson said: “Conor has been great for the youth team all season. He has not looked out of place since he stepped up to the development squad.
“He has a great football brain and has great passing ability. We are sure he will continue to do well for the rest of the season.”
