A number of new young players have joined Town recently

Youth team members Michael Tetteh, Jordan Hancox and Mamadou Djabi spoke to the Club website about their experiences so far on pre-season tour in Austria.

The young codlings arrived on the continent along with Barry Nicholson’s development squad on Wednesday evening, and will enjoy a two week training camp.

Fixtures have been arranged against local opposition for both teams, which will prepare them well for the upcoming season.

Tetteh said: “We arrived late on Wednesday evening and went for a light jog after getting here just to loosen the muscles up a little.

“The training camp is obviously all about fitness as we need to be as fit as possible ahead of the start of the season.

Hancox added: “There’s two different sides to our work; we’ve got the fitness side and the physicality side as we want to get strong before the start of the season.

“We’ve also got the cultural side of things too where you visit new places. This is the first pre-season camp I’ve been on away from England. It’s an experience.”

Djabi admits that team bonding is crucial for the squad while out in Austria with a number of new scholars arriving at Highbury.

“The facilities here are top class. It’s my first time abroad as well so it’s just about getting used to the surroundings and everything that goes with it.

“It’s important we bond as a team while we’re out here as new faces have come into the squad recently. It’s vital we stick together.”
