Match Report: Fleetwood Town Youth Team 6-0 Firsts Vienna

24 July 2015

Young Cod Army continued fine form in Austria

Fleetwood Town’s Under 18’s side continued their impressive form out in Austria with a fine victory over Firsts Vienna.

Nathan Rooney’s side controlled the game for long periods and worked tirelessly out of possession.

A lot of chances were created from the flanks, which caused the opposition to work really hard off the ball while Town had to adapt to playing the ball sideways.

The young Cod Army showed discipline and patience on the ball during the first half, and took a three goal lead in at the break.

They added a further three in the second period in what was more of a scrappy half, however Town were always on control.

After the game, Rooney said: "Its a great way to finish the pre season tour, and we now hope that this consistency is taken into the season.

“We were pleased with the players’ attitude, and they dealt well with the tough climate."

Assistant Daniel Gregson, said: "The lads have met the physical demands of the trip, they have displayed high levels of commitment which must be maintained throughout the season.”
