Wide man scores his first goal for the Club

Amari’i Bell was pleased to net his first goal in Fleetwood colours in Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.

The left sided player joined the Club during the summer, and has impressed Town’s faithful with his powerful attacking promise.

The Cod Army fell behind early on as Kris Boyd tapped home from close range, before Bell struck in the 25th minute after some good play from Jamie Proctor.

Boyd added his second of the afternoon in the second period, while Chris Johnston put the game beyond doubt late on.

After the game, Bell said: “I feel we did well in some areas today but there are other areas which we need to work on in training.

“It’s disappointing to lose of course because we need to start getting into the winning habit, but there was a lot of positives in there and if we can build on that then we’ll done well.

“It’s always nice to score and I was very pleased with it as I thought I took it well. I could have done better in the attacking area but it’s still pre-season and I can work on that.

“I haven’t scored a lot of goals during my career so far, so will be eager to get my first goal in the league and score more goals for Fleetwood.

“It’s still pre-season and there’s still time for us to pick ourselves up and get that winning mentality.

“We don’t get ourselves down too much but we just need to stay strong.

“The next two games are going to be our biggest tests so we need to be better than what we were today, and improve on some areas.”
