Youth team captain Andy Smith gives the latest update

Fleetwood Town youth team captain Andy Smith gave the latest update to the Club's website after day three and four of pre-season tour in Austria.

Day 3

As per routine each day we woke up at 7am for our early morning run. This lasted around 20 minutes doing as we did three laps of the lake on the site in a really hot humid weather.

The second session of the morning at 10:30am which lasted an hour was based on technical aspects to help and encourage us into the night’s game against Eastbourne.

In sweltering heat after going a goal down in the second half, the team showed great fitness levels and determination to bring the game to 2-1 and to go on and win it.

After the game the squad and staff had a BBQ with members of the opponents team. This gave us the opportunity to relax and socialise with other players.

Day 4

We were allowed an extra hour in bed and had breakfast at 8am. We started training at 10:30am with the first part of training consisting of stretches and sharpness.

I was very pleased about being selected to train and play 60 minutes for the development squad against Rapid Vienna.

We were playing against older players who were very technically good and well experienced. The food and culture has been really good and I have had the opportunity to speak German having studied it at school.

In the field of sport, the Erasmus+ Programme aims to support actions in the development, transfer and implementation of innovative ideas and practices at European, national, regional and local level.

It is also expected Sport Actions will contribute to the development of a European dimension to sport, increasing co-operation and harmonisation between sport organisations
