All the recent news from the Club's youth team
The Club’s youth team have been frustrated recently with a number of postponements hampering their league schedule.Their game against Morecambe at the UCLan Sports Arena in Preston was called off last Saturday, while Tuesday’s fixture away at Oldham Athletic also fell foul to the weather.
Craig Madden’s team will now be hoping that this Saturday’s game at home to Accrington Stanley at Lytham Cricket Club will go ahead.
Elsewhere, Conor Smith and Matty Williams both featured in the development squad’s midweek defeat to Bolton Wanderers at the Trotters’ training ground.
The pair, along with Michael Muscat, have all been promoted to Barry Nicholson’s team in recent weeks after catching the eye in the youth set-up.
Muscat however has recently teamed up with Bamber Bridge on a month’s loan, and impressed in their 3-1 win over Padiham last Saturday afternoon.
There was good news for striker Jonny Conway who had his plaster removed after suffering a broken metatarsal in training.
The second year scholar has now been fitted an orthopedic boot as he continues to recover from his nasty injury.
Goalkeeper Liam Bleeker celebrated his 18th birthday on the 28th January, and everyone at the Club hopes the shot stopper had a terrific day.
There was joy for the Under 16’s side last Sunday morning as they defeated local rivals Blackpool 2-0 at Myerscough College.
In a team full of trialists, the youngsters performed well on the all-weather surface, and enjoyed the bragging rights over the Tangerines.
