Tony Barlow will ride in aid of Prostate Cancer UK

Fleetwood Town have a new champion. Tony Barlow, a popular member of the Fleetwood Town front of house security staff will be representing the Club as this year's Prostate Cancer Champion in the London to Amsterdam Cycle challenge.

Prostate Cancer is the Football League’s nominated charity. Prostate cancer kills one man every hour in the UK, and in 2014 riders from more than 50 clubs helped raise more than £200,000 to support the 250,000 men affected by the disease in the UK.

The London to Amsterdam Challenge is calling on fans to join a star-studded peloton cycling from Leyton Orient FC to Dutch giants Ajax.  International trio Luther Blissett, Terry Butcher and Matt Holland will line up at The Matchroom Stadium in east London in the early hours of Friday 12 June 2015 for the third annual #L2A, aiming to raise over £250,000 to help save men’s lives and Tony will be riding for the Cod Army.

The 145-mile event includes a half-time pit-stop at Colchester United FC before the squad set sail from Harwich at the end of day one. The second day, Saturday 13th June takes in a serene sojourn along the pristine pathways of the Netherlands culminating in a finale at the Amsterdam Arena.

Tony will be looking for sponsors and supporters to back him in his campaign to raise funds for a fantastic cause. To donate to his cause you can see Tony on the main reception on matchdays and we are sure he will welcome your support!

He said: "I am very proud to represent Fleetwood Town Football Club for this great cause. Training has begun and I can’t wait for the first day on June 12th.”
