Midfielder has been in fine form in recent weeks

Antoni Sarcevic feels recent performances have improved confidence amongst the players as they prepare to welcome Walsall to Highbury on Saturday afternoon.

The midfielder has been a key player for Town during this campaign, and has produced a number of fine displays from central midfield in recent weeks.

And he believes the Cod Army can head into this weekend’s game with belief, as they’ll look to get one over on the Saddlers who knocked them out of the FA Cup in November.

He said: “Saturday will have a different sort of feel to it when we played them in the cup last month, and I think they’ll have more respect for us this time.

“Our record is good at the moment but we just need to keep our impressive performances going and I’m sure we’ll be okay.

“They’ll come here with more respect like I said given how well we’re going right now. Hopefully this time we can take the chances that we create.

“People have seen how good our performances have been in recent weeks, even against Blackpool when we lost we just couldn’t get the finishing touch.

“At the start of the season we had a few downs but the manager has come in and I’m just happy to produce performances for the team.

“With the squad they’ve got I’m sure they’ll be high in confidence, so I don’t think losing their manager will make much of a difference to them.”
