Ryan delighted to get back amongst the goals

8 December 2015

Midfielder was involved in both of the Cod Army's goals

Jimmy Ryan was involved in both of Town's goals this evening as they secured their passage to the JPT Northern Area final.

The midfielder set David Ball up with a low cross in the second half before finding the net himself with a poked effort into the bottom corner.

And he is confident the Cod Army can continue their good form in this season's competition when they face Barnsley over two legs next month.

After the game, he said: I've been looking to try and get on the scoresheet for a while but I haven't really had the finishing touch recently.

Thankfully tonight I've got in the box and got a goal as well as an assist which I'm really happy about.

We kept the ball well and had plenty of possession, and knew our chances would come the longer the game went on.

You know what you're going to get from Bally as he's always sharp and is a threat. He scores every day in training and I'm made up for him.

For my goal I'd seen the defender making a challenge on me but I just managed to toe poke it past the keeper at the last minute.

We're all playing to get to Wembley and hopefully get a medal, but we've got a massive two games against Barnsley now.

We fancy our chances against anyone in this league and we've beaten Barnsley already at their place so don't see why we can't win again.
