The camps are proving to be popular amongst local children

Six members of Town’s first team squad visited the Community Trust’s summer sports camps at Fleetwood High School on Monday afternoon.

Amari’i Bell, Chris Maxwell, Jamille Matt, Keano Deacon, Lyle Della-Verde and Nick Haughton were all present and enjoyed a fantastic visit.

The Trust’s sports camps will run throughout the month of August, and young children from the local area are all invited to come along.

Over 70 children have attended the sports camps so far, as they continue to go from strength to strength.

Community co-ordinator Mike Lee said: “We had a good first event down at Fleetwood High School, with six first team players present at our sports camps.

“Four of the lads went together and spoke to the younger ones, while Chris and Jamille went with the big group of 50 associated with the community project.

“We have two sports camps at Fleetwood High School, one for the younger children and another for those over the age of eight.

“The players enjoyed games of dodgeball with the children, and Chris and Jamille went for photos with the group of 50.

“It’s all about promoting the Club as whole and us getting out there and making our fanbase bigger and recruiting younger supporters.”
