Boss speaks ahead of Tuesday's match against League Two side

Fleetwood Town manager Graham Alexander wants to see his side go on a cup run this season, with the Capital One Cup first up on the schedule.

The Cod Army will be involved in three cup competitions away from League One, the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and the FA Cup the other two.

First up is a first round tie in the Capital One Cup against League Two side Hartlepool United at Highbury Stadium on Tuesday evening, 7.45pm kick-off and the boss is expecting a very difficult tie against the North East outfit.

Alexander said: “We want to have a cup run this season. We want to get as far as we can in this competition and we want to turn winning into a habit.

“We take every game as serious as the last. We will be preparing for Tuesday’s game as much as we did for the Southend United match.

“We will be putting out a team that we expect to win the game. We know it will be tough. Hartlepool United had a fantastic end to last season and Ronnie Moore is a very experienced manager.

“We will have to be as good as we were against Southend United if we are going to get anything out of the match and advance to the second round. “
