Forbes overwhelmed to net first Football League goal

18 August 2015

Town picked up their first win of the season

Youngster Tyler Forbes netted his first competitive Football League goal in this evening’s win over the Shakers.

The wing back brought Town level at 2-2 just before the break, and played an important part in the Cod Army’s first victory of the season.

It was also his first start of the new campaign, having replaced the injured Eggert Jonsson in defence.

He said: “Words can’t describe how it felt like to score my first goal for Fleetwood.

“That was probably the best we’ve played this season. The lads were excellent.

“It was great to get the win and score four goals. The most pleasing was we took our chances.

“We’ve got a great squad, so if I’m on the bench or playing then I always wish the lads the best.

“I give my all every game though like I did today, so hopefully I can get more starts.

“I came to Fleetwood as a winger so to be back playing there is a gift really.

“Wherever I play though I just give my best.

“There was a huge amount of work for everyone to do tonight.

“We all put a great shift in and it showed with the three points we picked up.”
