Fleetwood's new MP visits Highbury Stadium

5 August 2015

Smith attended the recent clash against Burnley

Fleetwood’s new MP Cat Smith took time out from her busy Parliamentary schedule to attend Fleetwood Town’s all-Lancashire pre-season clash with Burnley.

Cat, who attended many games during her election campaign, wished Graham Alexander and his team all the best for the new season and even met the legend that is Captain Cod!

Cat said: “I saw Fleetwood Town before they were famous, so to say. I was brought up a Barrow fan so I watched them many times at Holker Street.

“I used to come on holiday with my family to Fleetwood so I have followed the Club’s fortunes and rise up the leagues closely.

“Fleetwood is really proud of its football Club and it’s a huge part of the ethos of the town. The town is really behind the Club, they want to see it do well.

“The Club doing well is really important and I wish them every success this season.”
