Academy based in New York visit Fleetwood Town FC

Fleetwood Town gave a warm welcome to NY Soccer Central who attended Easter Monday’s emphatic 4-0 victory against Yeovil Town.

The academy, based in Central New York, provides year round coaching for hundreds of US based players.

After several years of being in the academy, many of these players aspire to play at the college and professional levels and part of their development is to experience the culture and level of play in England.

For the past few years, these New York based players have been given the opportunity to play against and train with some of the best up and coming talent in the North West at clubs such as Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers and Fleetwood Town FC.

They have seen Fleetwood Town develop year by year and continue to look into building a strong relationship with the club.

Director of Community Matt Hilton said: “It was a pleasure to have them come along to the game. They all loved Fleetwood Town. They got so close to the action and they picked up some nice Cod Army momentous from the Club shop before the game against Yeovil.

“We look forward to them returning to Highbury in the near future. They had a positive match day experience and they will return to America as new FTFC supporters.”

Fleetwood Town Community Trust would like to thank New York Soccer Academy for their kind donation which will contribute towards community based projects.
