Great achievement for Matthew...
Fleetwood Town first year Futsal student Matthew Kell has won the Sony sponsored Student of the Term award.Dave Walton, his tutor said: “Matthew has been a shining light of the course at Fleetwood Town and has consistently achieved outstanding academic success.
“He has remained focussed and determined throughout to produce high quality work, assignment after assignment. Matthew is a model student at the Club and has been given the role of team captain, both on the futsal court and in the classroom.
“He leads by example to try and set a positive image for all the other students on the course. Matthew is often seen supporting students that are struggling and encouraging them to push themselves, helping with their work and assisting them to try and achieve above and beyond what they normally would.”
Matthew was presented with his award during the half time interval of the final home match of the season against Colchester United.
The youngster was pictured with Cod Army duo Stewart Murdoch and Jamille Matt, who both praised Matthew for his hard work during the academic year.
Steve Dalton, Managing Director at Sony UK Technology Centre said: “We chose Matthew because of the strong and positive attitude he has shown towards his studies whilst others around him have lost focus.
“He shows excellent character by not deferring his studies and taking the easy option. He’s been selected as team captain both in and out of the classroom, which shows his determination and ability to succeed, winning the respect of his peers.”
