Graham Alexander's thoughts ahead of MK Dons match

Manager Graham Alexander told the local press that Fleetwood Town are ready to put things right on Tuesday night against MK Dons.

The Cod Army suffered a  frustrating defeat at Walsall on Saturday with the Saddlers top goal scorer Tom Bradshaw scoring four minutes from the end to seal a 1-0 victory for the hosts.

But Alexander insisted himself and his players will not let Saturday’s disappointment cloud what has been a positive few weeks for the Club.

Speaking in his post match press conference, the boss said: “It was a disappointing result, in the second half we put in a disappointing performance. We were very flat and we didn’t really get going after the break.

“Before the Walsall match we had two very good victories and a good spot. It came out of the blue on Saturday and we haven’t played like that for quite a while and it is hard to put a finger on it.

“I take my share of the blame. I should have changed it earlier in the second half to give the lads a better chance or to just freshen it up. It obviously wasn’t working but I still think we should have taken a point from the game.

“It was a poor 45 minutes, we lost the goal late on but we are not going to let those 45 minutes cloud what has been a very good performances from the players as of late.

“We have put it to bed. We aim to come out tomorrow more like our normal selves. We know MK Dons are a very good team from playing them earlier this season.

“They have vast experience of League One football and they are the top end of the table. They are a very good team with threats all over.

“We need to make sure we take the game to them as well and offer a threat. We didn’t do that last weekend but our previous home game we scored four goals and enjoyed a good victory.

“I think Tuesday will be a tougher game but it is one we are looking forward to. I saw that in the players when they trained on Monday morning and they can’t wait to get back on the pitch.”
