The man in charge of the Good Friday encounter at Gillingham is referee Brendan Malone.

Mr Malone has been a match official since the 2006/07 season and has worked his way up from officiating non-league football.

Based in Wiltshire, Brendan last officiated Town back in September 2014 as the Cod Army fell to a cruel 1-0 loss at Crawley Town despite dominating the game.

Before that, Malone took charge of Fleetwood’s 2-0 victory at Oxford in League Two, David Ball and Antoni Sarcevic the goal scorers.

His last game came on the 21st March as he officiated the 0-0 draw between Southend and Cambridge. He has brandished 51 yellows and five reds to date.

He will be joined by Andrew Laver and Robert Mackay as his assistants and Adam Crysell as the fourth official.
