Students linked up with Director of Community on Monday

Fleetwood Town Community Trust welcomed visitors from Turku University of Applied Sciences in Finland.

The 20 students linked up with Director of Community Matt Hilton on Monday at Bolton University as he delivered a lecture on Sport Management in the UK.

During his lecture, Matt discussed his case study on Fleetwood Town and the important role he plays at the Club within the Community Trust.

This led to the Finnish students visiting the home of the Cod Army the following day and seeing first-hand what happens on a day to day basis at Highbury Stadium.

They also had the opportunity to sample the Club’s fantastic state of the art training ground at Poolfoot Farm.

Turku University’s Business Management lecturer Marita Antikainen said: “We thank Fleetwood Town for their hospitality, the students were delighted with the visits and it has helped them gain many new ideas.”

Matt Hilton added: “It was great to see how keen the students were about the growth of Fleetwood Town FC. It is great to engage with people who want to know about our fantastic story and I am sure they will all be keen Fleetwood Town followers going forward.”
