Craig Madden's men pick up their second win of the season
Fleetwood Town's Youth side recorded their second Youth Alliance League victory of the season following a 3-2 win over Morecambe at Lytham on Saturday morning.Louis Myers had given the Cod Army the lead in first half stoppage time, before quick-fire goals at the start of the second half from Adam Reynolds and Cameron Rigby gave the visitors the advantage.
Michael Muscat then equalised on the hour with a header, before Myers found his second of the game late on to win the game for Fleetwood.
It would be Town who would find the first chance of the game with Conor Smith drilling a right-footed effort which was tipped over by Morecambe keeper Will Kitchen after 11 minutes.
The Shrimps keeper would be called into action again three minutes later, again denying Smith's long range free-kick as the Cod Army looked to find an opener.
With Fleetwood on top in the game, defender Michael Muscat glanced wide from point blank range following a corner.
At the other end, the visitors looked to get into the game, with Shrimps man Charlie Bailey unable to find a route to goal.
Craig Madden's young Cod Army then saw several chances go begging, with efforts from Jonny Conway and Shane Glean both going wide as the half progressed.
However, Fleetwood would soon be in-front through Myers, who finished with aplomb after 44 minutes.
A crossed ball from Smith was brought down by Myers, who hit the ball left-footed on the half-volley into the back of the net.
As proceedings for the second half resumed, Morecambe came out the traps quickly, and defender Danny Vile's last-ditch tackle on Bailey prevented an equaliser.
However, from the resulting corner, Morecambe were level thanks to Reynolds as he glanced his header through the grasp of keeper Liam Bleeker.
It would be the Shrimps who would find the next goal, against the run of play, thanks to Rigby on 58 minutes.
The ball took a large deflection of Muscat, and broke into the path of Rigby who fired coolly past Bleeker.
Fleetwood were then level almost immediately when Michael Muscat headed beyond Kitchen at the back post.
The Cod Army found their eventual winner after 72 minutes, with Myers netting his second of the game, heading in-between the legs of the keeper.
Fleetwood perhaps could have had a fourth, however Jordan Hancox saw his free header go just wide of the post in the closing stages.
