Cod Army fell to a narrow away defeat at stadium:mk
Graham Alexander was left frustrated at the penalty decision that went against his side six minutes from time at stadium:mk this evening.Stephen Crainey was adjudged to have fouled Samir Carruthers in the area, and Benik Afobe stepped up to convert the resulting spotkick.
David Ball had given Town the lead early in the second half before Kyle McFadzean replied on the hour mark.
After the game, Alexander said: “I’m really disappointed for the lads tonight. They’ve left everything out on the pitch and have worked extremely hard.
“It’s been taken out of our hands though by a fifth penalty of the season against us this year. It’s becoming a habit that’s hurting us.
“It’s a difficult one to take because we try to go along the right lines of getting these things sorted, but it’s gone against us.
“It was a nothing penalty and one of those which was always going to go for the home side.
“We knew it would be a tough game and it was. MK Dons are a very good side, especially at home, and we had to work very hard. It’s disappointing. “
