Striker made history by becoming the youth team's youngest ever player
Youth team player Conor Finlayson stated his delight to the Club website following his first appearance in the defeat at home to Rochdale on Saturday.The youngster made history following his appearance at Lytham, becoming the youngest ever player to feature for the Fleetwood youth team.
Finlayson, who was one of a host of school boy scholars involved in the youth first team squad due to injury problems impressed during his brief 20 minutes cameo.
And after his debut, Finlayson spoke to the official Club website about settling into a higher level over the last week or so, and his ambitions for his future career.
He said: "Settling in was quite nerve-racking at first, but it has got better as the week has progressed after meeting all of the older players, and gelling together with the lads during our training sessions.”
Striker Finlayson also revealed that he has adapted his game in the previous week following his call up to an older age group.
"Personally I've had to toughen up, the level is completely different to the Sunday League game, it is a lot faster, and I have also had to adapt to the pace and intensity of both training and matchday.”
He then went onto praise Craig Madden and the rest of the coaching staff, alongside his new team-mates who have all welcomed him well.
"The manager and the rest of the coaching staff have all been fantastic with me. They have helped me a lot since I've been involved and the lads have been great too and have really welcomed me."
