Young Cod Army in rich vein of formMark Bowley was delighted to see Town’s youth side pick up their third win on the bounce over Carlisle United on Saturday morning.
The Young Cod Army saw themselves four goals to the good before the Cumbrians staged a late fight back which ensured a nervy finale.
But Bowley believes that Fleetwood got their just rewards following a third straight win on the bounce, which added to recent victories over Morecambe and Accrington Stanley over the past week.
The coach praised the performance afterwards and stated: "In the first half the lads did exceptionally well and it was a well-earned victory in the end, despite the nervy end to it."
"We carried on from our victory against Accrington in the FA Youth Cup on Wednesday night.
Bowley stressed that the side need to become more aware at the back having conceded three late goals, but admits that it’s something they’ll work on.
"We were 4-0 up and in control of the game at the time, but they get a penalty kick and it all changes in a short period of time.
"Our lack of concentration which led to their three goals has caused us as a coaching team some concern and needs to be worked on.
"We need to start managing results better, shutting up shop and seeing matches out.
“Overall though it was a pleasing win and one which we very much deserved as a group.
“There appears to be a new-found confidence and recent results can help us on to win more games.”
