Youth coach delighted for his players

Mark Bowley revealed his delight to the Club website following Fleetwood's win over Tranmere Rovers on Saturday.

Goals from Shane Glean and a late winner from Louis Myers either side of Darren Askew's equaliser gave Fleetwood the three points.

The win over Tranmere means that Fleetwood have recorded four wins from their last four fixtures, which included an FA Youth Cup tie at home to Accrington Stanley.

Bowley said: "I'm delighted for the boys to be honest with you. I thought we were outstanding, we passed the ball well, we closed people down and created chances.

"Shane's goal was absolutely outstanding, different class.

"We should have had more goals really. Jonny Conway scored before half time and the referee disallowed it, and apologised for his error at half-time.”

Bowley then went onto praise the young Cod Army's confidence levels having enjoyed an upturn in results in recent weeks.

"I'm genuinely absolutely delighted for the boys and their confidence is sky high.

"We were talking in the changing room about the confidence of the lads, and that’s what wins do. They give each and every member of us high levels of confidence.

"We had got into a situation where we were losing games and were in a habit of losing games.

“Now that we’re in a habit of winning game our belief is back.  The confidence is showing and the lads are bubbling.

"I'm so proud of the lads. Each and every one of them did their job, and each member had a good solid game.

"What is more pleasing to me as a coach personally is that they all played well, not just one individual, everyone was absolutely outstanding, and hopefully now we can push on.”
