Sales going well for the first leg tie on Saturday at York City
With excitement heavily building around Fleetwood ahead of a Play-Off semi-final double header with York City, fans have been turning out in their numbers to secure their seats for the first-leg this Saturday.
On a sun-kissed morning on the Fylde Coast, season ticket holders and die-hard fans, Derick Oldham and John Little, were the first to secure their seat at Bootham Crescent.
Ticket sales for this weekend’s trip have, as expected, gone well so far and Fleetwood’s bid to secure promotion to Sky Bet League 1 is going to be buoyed by a loud contingent of Cod Army fans and Little is backing Graham Alexander’s side to navigate their way through the Play-Offs.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Little said: “If you can’t buy them for this game you are never going to bother.
“Unfortunately we didn’t make it through automatic, but we will go through the play-offs instead and have a nice day at Wembley.”
Oldham added: “it’s a nice day at York as well, we are going early. Hopefully there is a good following, they have all day to get there.”
Back in October, Fleetwood recorded a 2-0 victory over the Ministermen with Gareth Evans and Jamille Matt scoring in each half and Little is hoping Town can replicate a performance of similar ilk to keep the town’s dream alive of walking down Wembley Way
“That was probably one of our better performances, 2-0 away from home that will certainly do again.
“Everybody is psyched up for this one now and we are dreaming of Wembley. You would never thought this would happen a few years ago would you?”
Fleetwood have also announced that free coach travel will be provided for all supporters who intend to make the 236-mile round trip to York for this weekend’s game.
