Andy Pilley urges fans to get behind the Cod Army on Friday night
Chairman Andy Pilley is calling on all Fleetwood Town fans to purchase tickets for Friday’s Sky Bet League 2 second-leg Play-Off encounter against York City as soon as possible.
The Cod Army hold a slender 1-0 lead going into the clash at Highbury after Matty Blair’s second-half goal in the first leg at Bootham Crescent on Monday night.
And Pilley wants the supporters to sing loud and proud on Friday evening as Fleetwood fight for the right to reach the Wembley final.
Pilley said: “Get along, get your ticket as soon as possible and look forward to a memorable game at Highbury.
“And make sure you’re prepared to cheer as loud as possible because we need all the support we can get.
“It’s not one to watch on the television, you want to be there.”
The ticket office will remain open until 7pm on both Wednesday and Thursday, although Pilley has warned that tickets will go quick due to demand.
“The ticket office has been very busy ahead of the game and we’re confident it will be sold out very soon,” said Pilley.
“We need Highbury to be absolutely full to the rafters on Friday. It’s going to be very important for the crowd to cheer the team on towards the finish line.
“Highbury is one of my favourite places in the whole world under the floodlights, and when it’s packed there’s a fantastic atmosphere.
“But we’ve got to go again. We don’t want to get carried away yet. We got a fantastic result at York but there’s still a lot of work to be done.
“The victory was only by one goal but I think we were good value for it.”
