Cod Army to host Futsal Open Evening this Monday.

Love football? If the answer is yes, then this the ideal opportunity for ages 16-18 to represent Fleetwood Town in a Futsal Scholarship Programme.

Come along to Highbury on Monday 3rd March from 7pm in the Parkside Suite to hear what the scholarship is all about.

The club are looking for 15 players to become part of the Futsal and Education Scholarship Programme for September 2014.

Students will enrol onto a 2 year, Level 3 BTEC in Sport, whilst competing in a national Futsal league representing Fleetwood Town FC. The Scholars play competitive Futsal fixtures against other professional football clubs.

The programme aims to provide 16-18 year olds with the underpinning knowledge and expertise in the field of sport, for students with aspirations to have a career in sport, sports coaching, P.E teaching, physiotherapy, sports management or sports science.

The Scholars will be enrolled on a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma, worth up to three A-Levels and allowing access to university. There is also the opportunity to gain vocational qualifications such as the level one and two football coaching awards, and also futsal coaching and referees courses. All applicants must be attaining 4 GCSE grades at C or above, ideally including Maths and English.

Fleetwood Town captain and central defender, Mark Roberts, is our Ambassador for Education.

He said: “I am proud to be the ambassador of educational scholarships such as Futsal. This programme is good grounding for young footballers as the education compliments the football played.

“The scholarship is there to help young footballers on and off the field and I know it can be a major success here at Fleetwood Town FC.”

Anyone interested can attend our open evening on Monday 3rd March starting from 7pm. This open evening is held in the Parkside Lounge, Highbury Stadium.

Anyone is welcome to attend along with parents and guardians. For more information please contact the community programme on 01253 775080 ext.2 or e-mail community@fleetwoodtownfc.com
