Boxing event to be held at Highbury in July
Fleetwood Town will host an afternoon of 14 explosive semi-professional and white collar boxing on Saturday 19th July at Highbury Stadium dubbed the ‘Promotion Punch Up’.
Partners Apocalypse Promotions organisers of the event present a number of contests headlined by Mark Webster (Fleetwood) vs Mike Carter (Malta) in an International Heavyweight Championship match. The co main event will see Wayne O’Neill (Fleetwood) vs Felice Cancellara (Italy) in another international contest at super middleweight.
Doors will open at 1:30pm, the event will start with three junior exhibitions bouts, featuring Apocalypse Boxing and Fitness U16 boxers, showcasing the skills of the junior classes.
The final nine bouts will be battling it out for the inaugural ‘Team Boxing Championship’. This will see a team of local fighters trained by Apocalypse Boxing and Fitness representing Fleetwood Town Football Club against a team of fighters representing Leeds United Football Club. Each bout will be scored with the winner receiving a point the winning team with the most point will lift the trophy.

“We hosted this event in summer 2011 and it was a great success and with the Fleetwood public being big boxing fans we are sure it will be a popular community event once again.”
Bobby Carolan from Apocalypse Promotions is delighted to have secured Highbury as the venue for the event.
He said: "Highbury is a fantastic venue for this event and we are looking forward to working with Fleetwood Town to make the event a great success.
"It’s a great showcase for the fighters and they are really looking forward to the day. We hope the public come and support the local fighters to win another trophy for Fleetwood."
The event will be hosted by a Profession MC and feature all the show-business, sound and lights of a Las Vegas Mega Fight. All officials shall be provided by the European Boxing Federation.

VIP tickets are priced at £50 per person with VIP access to the Parkside Suite Bar, and the best seats in the house for VIP Balcony seating. VIP Boxes are available for 12 guests £800 which includes champagne on arrival, a buffet, photo opportunities and waitress service throughout.
