Morris rejoins the Cod Army on loan until January 2015

Fleetwood Town have re-signed Blackburn Rovers winger Josh Morris on loan until the 3rd January.

The 22-year-old played a key role in helping the Club win promotion to League One and started all three Play-Off games including the 1-0 win over Burton Albion in the final.

The Preston born midfielder featured 14 times in all for the Cod Army in 2013/14 and scored his first ever professional goal during his time on the Fylde Coast, the winner at Cheltenham Town on Good Friday.

Josh has been given permission by his parent club Blackburn Rovers to play for Fleetwood in the Capital One Cup and Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

He linked up with his team mates on Wednesday afternoon and will be part of the squad that travel to Colwyn Bay for tonight’s pre-season friendly.

Pleased to bring Josh back to the Club, manager Graham Alexander said: “Josh made a great impression on everybody last season.

“He is very popular with all the players, he is a good footballer, a fit lad and he is motivated. He did a fantastic job when he came in last season.

“We had a conversation at the end of the season and he signed a new contract at Blackburn Rovers but we kept in contact over the summer. I am pleased we have been able to bring him back in on loan.”
