57 bedroom property purchased by Fleetwood Town

Another pre-season development has seen a positive move in the right direction with the purchase of a 57 bedroom Blackpool hotel.

The property will be the new ‘digs’ for the first and second year scholars, development squad players and trialists.  New ‘house parents’ Paul and Anne Woodward, will look after the running of things on a day to day basis.

“It is another necessary and positive development for the football club” Chief Executive Steve Curwood told the Fleetwood Town Club website.

“We have been paying considerable hotel bills over the last few years to other hoteliers, so not only will this reduce our costs in the long run, but we are now in full control of all the welfare of our Youth Team players and everything which goes alongside that responsibility. The longer turn plan is to also create a number of self-contained apartments within part of, what is a very large property’’

‘’It is an exciting time for Fleetwood Town Football Club, with the promotion to League One, planning permission being granted for Poolfoot Farm and the creation of the new development squad. We are all looking forward to the future.”
