We get to know our Russian opponents a bit better...

Fleetwood Town take on Russian Premier League outfit FC Terek Grozny this evening in what will be their first game of the 2014 Austrian tour.

Graham Alexander and his players have enjoyed an intense few days of pre-season training in Obertraun ahead of tonight’s game.

Initially, the Cod Army were scheduled to do battle against Terek at Traunstein in Germany, however heavy recent rain in Bavaria means that the fixture has now been switched to Weyarn, only a short distance away from Traunstein (K.O – 5pm local time)

Grozny, who finished 12th last season, in the Russian Premier League, boast an experienced squad with attacking flair in abundance, and in and amongst their ranks are a number of Brazilians, including Antonio Ferreira, Adilson, Mauricio, Ailton and Kanu.

Terek tasted defeat last Sunday in their latest warm-up game as they went down to a 2-1 defeat to Swiss giants FC Basel, and will provide a massive test for the Cod Army.

Town will bring an end to their Austrian tour on Saturday when they fly back to the United Kingdom, however do have one last fixture pencilled in against local side FC Pinzagu on Friday evening.

The kick-off time for the game against Pinzagu has been moved back to 7pm local time, and will be played at the stadium of SK Bischoshofen.
