Fleetwood enter new partnership with Blackpool Transport
Fleetwood Town have entered into a new partnership with Blackpool Transport in support of the club’s latest initiative first time fans.
The new partnership involved Fleetwood Town’s Community Trust targeting local clubs and groups to offer free match tickets and with a tie up with Blackpool Transport can now also offer free travel to Fleetwood from the Blackpool and Fylde area using a special club voucher for a prospective fan’s first ever visit to Highbury.
It proved a winner on day one of the partnership with players and families of South Shore Youth FC the beneficiary of the partnership for last weekend’s home game with Hartlepool United with over 100 people using the travel voucher and jumping on the new tram service.
Matt Hilton Head of Community Fleetwood Town, is delighted with the partnership. “This exciting new partnership with Blackpool Transport will enable us to grow our fans for the future through a high quality match day experience. A quick look around Highbury Stadium on a match day is all you need to see the success of the scheme. We pride ourselves in how many children and families attend our home games and we will do all we can to make sure that support continues as the club develops.”
Trevor Roberts, Managing Director of Blackpool Transport is excited about the partnership. He said“ Blackpool Transport are delighted to work in partnership with Fleetwood Town FC to encourage more support for a fantastic team and we hope the travel offer for first time fans allows them to experience our public transport network particularly the new trams which almost go to the stadium door and to see how easy it is to travel to games by either bus or tram.”
