New loan signing Josh Morris speaks after joining the Cod Army on loan

New recruit Josh Morris revealed he can’t wait to get started at Fleetwood Town after joining on an initial one month loan from Blackburn Rovers.

The 22-year-old left sided player completed his move from the Championship outfit only hours before the Cod Army’s game against Plymouth Argyle, and is eligible to play tonight if selected.

“It is great to have got the deal done,” admitted the club’s new number 24.

“It was all done last minute but I can’t wait to join up with the lads and get started.”

Born in Preston, Morris has been at Blackburn Rovers since the age of 13, working his way through the academy system at Ewood Park, alongside Alex Marrow, who is already on loan at Highbury from Gary Bowyer’s side.

“I have played at Highbury a couple of times. I know Alex very well from our time together at Blackburn Rovers and I am looking forward to seeing him again.

“It is good to have a familiar face already in the dressing room. It will be good to meet the rest of the lads ahead of tonight’s game with Plymouth Argyle.

“My focus is to now work hard and break into the starting line-up. I want to get the best out of my time here at Fleetwood Town.

“I am looking forward to working under the manager. I am registered to play tonight and I can’t wait to get started.”
