Winger speaks after completing 90 minutes against Chesterfield.

Fleetwood Town midfielder Junior Brown is adamant the Johnstone’s Paint Northern Final against Chesterfield is far from over following the Spireites 3-1 victory at Highbury on Tuesday night.

Paul Cook’s men hold a two goal advantage heading into the second leg in just under two weeks time, but Brown believes the Cod Army can take a number of positives away despite the score line not falling in their favour.

“The tie isn’t over yet,” admitted the 24-year-old when speaking to the club website. “Yes we are disappointed with the result but I thought overall we played well.

“It is all still to play for in the second leg; if we can go to Chesterfield and play to the best of our ability then we still have a chance of progressing.

“We have to regroup now though as the fixtures are coming along quickly. We will go again on Friday night at Newport which is another important game.

“On a personal note it was great to return to the starting line-up but we have a great set of lads and when you are not out there playing it is all about patience. Hopefully I will retain my place in the team for Friday’s game.”

For Fleetwood to replicate the scoreline of their last win on the road, 4-2 at Burton, you can get odds of 80/1
