Cod Army pair presented awards

Fleetwood Town defenders Nathan Pond and Danny Andrew were present at the All Star Sports Awards at Blackpool Sixth Form on Wednesday evening.

The event celebrated the sporting success of children in and around the Fylde Coast area, with a number of awards being recognised.

Pond and Andrew were on hand to present Hambleton Primary School with the Team of the Year award for their exploits over the past 12 months.

The youngsters competed at Wembley Stadium before the Cod Army’s game against Burton Albion in the Play-Off final at the end of May.

Town boss Graham Alexander, alongside Blackpool boxer Brian Rose, wheelchair athlete Shelly Woods, and Fylde RFC coach Mark Nelson, was a judge for the evening.

After the event, Pond said: “It was fantastic to see so many local children being awarded for their sporting efforts, and it was a pleasure to be a part of the evening.”
