Midfielder completes 90 minutes against Scottish side

Fleetwood Town rounded off their pre-season schedule on Saturday with a 0-0 draw against SPL side Partick Thistle.

Midfielder Steven Schumacher, who completed the full 90 minutes against the Jags, told the official Club website that he felt Town should have been three or four up by half time with the Cod Army creating several opportunities on goal.

He said: “The first half we were good, we pressurised really well and created a lot of chances. I was disappointed at half time that we were not three or four up, because we had a number of good opportunities.

"On a personal level it is always nice to get minutes under your belt which is the most important thing during pre-season."

For the 2,000 fans inside the stadium, it was an entertaining match, with Partick goalkeeper Scott Fox the busier of the two goalkeepers.

Next on the cards for Schumacher and co is Crewe Alexandra, and the former Bury man is ready for League One.

"It is a new challenge and it is a level the Club has never played at before,” explained Schumacher.

“We have to take each game as it comes. We have to take the momentum and the attitude from last season which helped us win promotion.”
