Defender has made an impressive start to the season
Stephen Jordan insists that the squad have put Tuesday night’s extra-time disappointment against Rotherham United behind them as they turn their attentions back to league football on Saturday.A Matt Derbyshire penalty in the 109th minute was all that separated the two sides at the New York Stadium, however Town can be happy with their performance against Championship opposition.
Graham Alexander’s men got off to the best possible start last weekend as they beat Crewe Alexandra at Highbury thanks to goals from David Ball and new signing Jamie Proctor.
Next up though is a trip to Meadow Lane for what will be their first away game of the new League One season, and former Manchester City defender Jordan is in confident mood.
“We’ll travel down there positively on Saturday, and if we play like we did on Tuesday night then we’ll win more games than what we lose this season.”
“We’ll be fine if we keep doing what we do.”
Jordan has struck up a formidable partnership in the centre of defence with recent World Record breaker Nathan Pond in recent games, a position he is familiar with.
“I played at centre-half a bit when I was younger, and it’s somewhere I enjoy playing so long may it continue.”
