Weekend Betting Preview

6 September 2013

League sponsor's round-up

Just two away teams won last weekend with seven home teams securing victories. We are set for another action packed weekend in Sky Bet League 2.

Read on for Sky Bet’s take on Fleetwood's chances this weekend with the Cod Army looking for home improvement.
It’s been an inconsistent start for Fleetwood but after a disappointing defeat at Wimbledon last weekend they bounced back with a win over League One Tranmere in the JPT in midweek.

If they are to mount a serious challenge this season they will have to improve on last year’s home form. It’s now just five wins in their last 20 at Highbury Stadium. However, that record improves to five wins in 11 when hosting bottom-half teams since the start of last season and Torquay are not the best travellers. The Gulls have won just one, and lost six, of their nine trips to top-half teams since the start of last season, and it’s a decent 8/11 shot that they suffer another defeat on the road.

Goals don’t tend to be in short supply when the Cod Army are in action, and their last six home games have all seen at least three strikes find the net. Furthermore, seven of their 11 home games against bottom-half teams since the start of last season have finished with at least three goals, and over 2.5 goals is a generous looking 1/1.

Other reasons to bet:

• Four of Fleetwood’s last five home matches have had at least four goals. 5/2
• Fleetwood have scored before half-time in four of their last six matches following a defeat. 11/8
• Torquay have conceded first in nine of their last 11 away matches.  4/7
