Alan Goodall has returned from his loan spell at Grimsby Town due to a groin injury sustained in last Saturday's win away at Aldershot. The 31-year-old moved to Highbury in 2011 and made 31 appearances for Fleetwood last season. The defender made 7 appearances for the Mariners during his loan spell.

Chris Maxwell saved a spot-kick on Tuesday evening as Cambridge United continued thier impressive start at the top of the Skrill Premier.

Shaun Beeley took the Sponsors Man of Match at Gigg Lane last Saturday as he helped Bury to a point and clean sheet.

Alex Tichiner nearly doubled Chester's single-goal win at Alfreton on Tuesday when his excellent solo run nearly resulted in a shot on goal

First year professional Jake Parker has spoken about his loan move to Evo Stick side Trafford.

He said: “It’s going well. I played half an hour in my debut for Trafford and helped them to a 3-1 win against a top four side at home. It is only round the corner for me so it is not far.

“It feels good to be playing some first team football. I am there for a month and I can get some experience and then I can make it to the first team hopefully, I will just have to see how it goes first. It has gone well so far.

The midfielder is happy that he is able to keep his fitness and competitiveness up to the right level in preparation for a potential first team place at Highbury.

He continued: “I train twice a week with Trafford and then train every day here, so I am keeping my fitness up and gaining experience so when I go to play with them, I can show them what I am about.”

“I am playing with bigger men there, it is very different in the Evo Stick League to League Two. The players aren’t as good as in League Two, but still some of them have played in the League before.”

Fellow youngter Richard Wright is set to join Radcliff Borough on a one-month loan deal.

Meanwhile, Damien Johnson has left the club by mutual consent.
