Fleetwood Town look to put back-to-back defeats behind them when they face York City at Bootham Crescent on Saturday.

York City, in 18th place in Sky Bet League 2, have taken four points out of nine so far in October including a 2-2 draw at leaders Chesterfield last time out.

Town went down to a single Scunthorpe goal at home on Tuesday and midfielder Gareth Evans says the visit to York is crucial.

Reflecting on the game against the Iron, Evans said: “I thought we were the better team on the night, without really being at our best, but if you don’t put your chances away you get punished, and unfortunately that is what  happened to us.”

The winger, who played 90 minutes in midweek, said: “Every game is tough especially after you’ve lost two on the bounce, so the game this weekend is massive. We’re going to go there and play the way we know we can play, and with the quality and the strength in depth that we have within the squad. We’ve had a thorough few days in training and we have the belief we have enough to earn us a win”.

The Minstermen will be buoyed by Tuesday night’s draw away to Chesterfield and Evans added: “They’ve not done too badly the last couple of games, but I know the gaffer has done his homework on them and we’ll go there and do our stuff”.
