Key dates and news for the summer

Nathan Pond Testimonial Preston North End will visit Highbury on Saturday 20th July for a pre-season friendly.  The game will mark the start of Nathan Pond's testimonial year following 10 years Highbury service. The central defender has made 317 appearances with 48 goals during that time for Fleetwood Town. Pond, 27, said he is looking forward to the game. "I’m really looking forward to the testimonial game against my home town club. I keep an eye on North End’s results because I’m from there but I’m not a fan. No matter what I’m Cod Army through and through. "It’s one of our first pre-season games so it will be very important from the fitness perspective. My aim is to have a good pre-season and do my best to cement a starting place." Kick-off time, ticket and hospitality details will be confirmed in due course. Jon Parkin adds another year The striker arrived at Highbury last summer and has a greed a further, one-year deal. The frontman scored 12 goals in 24 appearances, including hattricks in the away Lancashire derbies at Morecambe and Accrington Stanley. Fixtures The Football League have announced that the 2013/14 fixtures will be released on Wednesday 19th June 2013. League 2 start The season will kick-off on Saturday 3rd August 2013 and will conclude on Saturday 3rd May 2014 with the Play-Off Finals being held at Wembley Stadium on May 24th-26th. League Cup round 1 The opening stage of the cup will take place during the week commencing 5th August. Shop sale Great savings are available in the club shop on 2012/13 Nike kit and clothing.
